Birthday for a friend...

Yes, still on birthdays... This one I LOVED coloring!!  It is a freebie image from Saturated Canary, THANK YOU, and I found it fun, fun!!  It was a bit hard to color on some areas, but I managed.

I used different techniques on this card.  I love the concept of the crooked rectangles.  I think it gives it a very nice and modern dimension.  I don't know if you can see it well, but the edges and corners of the cards were sponged with chalk ink from ColorBox.  The color is Citrine which is like a flourescent green.  Very pretty.  I love the tecnique.  Adds so much to the card.  If you click on the image, you can see a larger version.

On the hair coloring:

I was experimenting with some color suggestions I saw online and came up with this pretty honey colored hair!  I think its really cute!  The Yellows seem to blend very well with the Earth colors.

Birthdays... and more birthdays...

This month seems to be busy with birthdays!!  I made this card for a friend of my daughter's who is a fan of the musical group: One Direction.  I never heard of them until my daughter mentioned them to me!

Well, it will be hard to tell which ones I used, since they are so many characters but I used the Earth colors for some two of the guys, Cool Grays for two of the other guys in the middle and Yellow for the one right in the middle.

Clothing:  Blues such as B16, B14 and B12, B39, B29, B24, Cool grays such as C9, C7, C5, C3 and N0, YG such as YG15, YG13, Blue Green such as BG15, BG13 and I think BG17 and some Red like R14 and R12.  Faces of course Earth tones such as E00, E50, E13, E11.

Well, that's it! Lots of colors but fun to make!

Alice in Wonderland

Well, I have to say that I was never much of an "Alice in Wonderland" fan when I was little, but I have become a fan now as an adult after watching new Disney's Alice in Wonderland with Johnny Depp.  I really liked that version! And now to add more to my new liking of Alice, Make it Crafty has released many wonderful stamps featuring this character!  I am really enjoying this digital stamp and am obsessed with finding different ways of coloring Alice.

Here's my project with Alice In Wonderland.  Digital stamp is from Make It Crafty at www.makeitcrafty.com.  These collection from Alice in Wonderful is well, "Wonderful!" lol I have been inspired by Make It Crafty talented team to improve my coloring and try new techniques!

Dr. Who!!  Many of us know of the very old British TV show where an alien travels in a phone booth through the universe and through time (time travel).  I've become a fan and my husband is die hard fan! He is the one that got me into it.  So, I made a cake with Dr. Who's theme and of course, his birthday card.

This is a coloring image I obtained online from http://chitanzer.deviantart.com.  Thank you for sharing the image!!  I had coloring it!!  And of course, giving credit to BBC for their awesome DR. Who TV show! Its an image of Dr. Who (younger) leaning on one of his enemies: The Daleks.

Hello!! Its been a while since I posted anything!!  I attended a most informative and fun Copic Marker coloring workshop with Wendy Ramlakahn but I will post details about it later!  Not much time today! But I wanted to post some practice blending I did this morning with blue Copic markers I have available.

I don't have all trios, but I practiced with the ones I have.  Here's the end result.  I used the cardstock I had available, which I hoped was thicker, but its what I found locally (Target).  It worked fine.  I wrote down the markers I used and in the order I colored with them.

Bright White Neenha Cardstock 65lbs

I wanted to try the blue markers I had and I think the balloon stamp worked nicely.
I especially like the combo for B39, B29, and B24.  That one would look great for denim.
I will post more as I try out my markers.  I like to experiment but different numbers to see what combinations I can come up with! FUN!

Today I wanted to practice my coloring on this little cute stamp I bought at Hobby Lobby yesterday.  Kind of rough looking antique stamp but I loved it!!  It has other things to it, but I just used the girl.  It was a bit of challenge but fun!  I don't have too many trios in Copic markers, so I used the yellow for her dress since I do have a trio of colors on that one.  I didn't do anything fancy like clouds because I wanted to also try out my blue B00 marker.  I wanted to get the even lighter one for a softer look, but I just wanted to color with it and see how it looks.  The ground too, I am practicing on that.  So here it is:
